After-School
Program

The after-school hours are a rich and vital time for providing challenging and exciting artistic experiences that compliment regular classroom instruction. The after-school program provides arts instruction for local elementary schools.

We also partner with several community organizations to offer visual and performing arts classes for elementary-age students. Classes are offered in Music, Dance, Drama, Visual Arts, and Ceramics. In addition, we offer performance programs, including a World Music Ensemble and the Inner-City Arts Chorus.
     

On weekends, we provide classes for high school students. In partnership with the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and the Community Arts Partnership (CAP), classes are offered in high school animation.

In 2001, Inner-City Arts’ After-School Program was recognized by winning the Coming Up Taller Award, sponsored by the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, and National Endowment for the Humanities.
