Creativity in the Classroom is offered in the fall, winter and spring. It consists of five Saturday hands-on art workshops in visual arts, ceramics, dance, music, drama, poetry and playmaking. Working with Inner-City Arts' professional artists and staff, teachers explore their own creativity, gain skills and knowledge in a variety of arts disciplines, become more familiar with the California Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards, and learn practical strategies to foster creativity and critical thinking in social studies, science, math and language arts. Creativity in the Classroom is approved by LAUSD for two salary-point credits. For two salary points, teachers must attend all five sessions and complete homework. Cost: $150 for the 5-session series. Individual sessions may be attended by special arrangement. Continental breakfast is provided, as are drinks with lunch. Please bring your own lunch. Time: All sessions are from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Registration and continental breakfast begins at 8:30 a.m. << Schedule and Registration Form >> For further information, please contact the Director of Professional Development Jan Kirsch at (213) 627-9621 or Creativity in the Classroom is supported by Bank of America, Union Bank, Wachovia, and Washington Mutual
