FEBRUARY 2008:

Inner-City Arts' partnership with the Cal Arts Community Arts Partnership is underway with our Elementary Animation Workshop.  This 14-week program culminates in an animated film to be screened for families at the school's site.  Last semester we worked with Norwood Elementary School to create an amazing film using scientific methods and animation.  This term we are working with a fourth grade classroom at El Sereno Elementary School.   Who knows what magic we will create together this Spring!

The Harlem Globetrotters have dunked their way into the hearts of basketball fans both young and old and will now be bringing their magic to Inner-City Arts for a special performance just for our students. Three players will be joining us for an interactive presentation that has been approved and done in concert with the US Dept. of Education and President's Council on Physical Fitness.  Their presentation will aim to draw parallels between the creativity that the students are engaged in here and the “Art and Soul” of the basketball entertainment they provide when they combine drama, dance, music and athleticism in each performance.

Inner-City Arts is pleased to offer Creativity in the Classroom, a fun and engaging workshop series for teachers and teaching artists. Teachers who attend the series and complete homework can receive two LAUSD salary-point credits. All sessions are on Saturdays, 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., except the Culmination (4/5), which ends at 4:30 p.m.
