JULY 2007 ENEWS: When Inner-City Arts was selected to benefit from an event called Tables of Ten in West Hollywood, it only seemed natural that our students would design a table as well. The theme was a “Birthday Party” and what a celebration it was! First grade students created a ceramic birthday cake with enough candles to leave anyone breathless. They also made plates piled high with their favorite (ceramic) foods, which included spaghetti, pizza and cookies. Fourth grade students painted life-sized dolls and decorated party hats, the tablecloth and napkins. Inner-City Arts' table was easily the most talked about display at the event.
The next day, the Inner-City Arts Chorus performed for participants attending The Avenues of Art and Design's 10th Annual Art and Design Walk. A big thank you to everyone involved!
Tickets are on sale for Noche de Baile – it's a night of dance and we want you to be a part of it! Featuring one of L.A.'s premiere Latin bands, Son y Clave. We'll also turn up the heat with a Latin dance performance and dance lessons. Tickets are $50 each and include two drink tickets, appetizers and valet parking. http://www.inner-cityarts.org/nochedebaile07.html Listen to how Debra Greene, a Master's student in broadcast journalism at USC's Annenberg School for Communication, captured the spirit of Inner-City Arts in her radio project - http://annenbergradio.org/index.php/members/2006/
