SEPTEMBER 2007 ENEWS:

We are extremely excited to announce that we have officially broken ground to begin Phase II of our Campus Expansion (photo: What's left of 7th and Merchant building where the Theater will be built). Phase II will include a new Ceramics Studio, Community Theater (complete with Costume Shop, Dressing Rooms), a Library and an Administrative Building. The campus expansion will enable the wide-scale enhancement of existing programs and the capacity to dramatically increase services to children, teachers and parents.

On Sept. 15th, Dick Deasy, Arts Education Partnership Director and Co-Author of Third Space, is our first guest speaker for this year's Visiting Scholars and Artists Series (VSAS).  Educators, researchers, artists and activists will share current trends and research in their disciplines and relevance to educational practice and community development. For more info contact Cybele, Professional Development Asst. (213) 627-9621 or cybele@inner-cityarts.org

The fall session of Creativity in the Classroom workshops begins this month! It consists of five Saturday hands-on art workshops in visual arts, ceramics, dance, music, drama, poetry and playmaking.
